Kevin Heinz

Making videos and films has been a passion of mine since first picking up my Dad's video camera during my childhood. We would create everything from silly stories to backwards videos that required reverse playback to experience our complete vision.
I continued to push my creative efforts in high school, and fell in love with digital video when our library got a miniDV camera and an iMac with iMovie. I spent many hours creating funny videos, more serious stories, and made a senior year choir memories video that still stands as a highlight of my high school projects.
I attended the University of Colorado and majored in Film Studies for my first 2 years. With other classmates, we shot 8mm films, edited with a splicer, and showed our projects on a reel projector. I transfered from the Film Studies to the Journalism School my Junior year, and majored in Creative Advertising. Working in teams, I produced print and video ads as class projects, and won Best Portfolio my Senior year.
I currently work at Plum TV in Vail, CO as the Senior Producer/Editor. We create many types content to air on our local TV channel and publish on our website, including story based segments, interviews, Partner Pieces (ads), a live morning show, and other shows, graphics, and various projects. We use Panasonic DVX100 miniDV and edit with Final Cut Pro. I've become proficient in After Effects and Motion, and create motion graphics for various projects. I also wrote and recorded a song for Plum TV that is used for highlight reels and sponsor cards, titled "Everybody", that stands out as a highlight of my career at Plum.
I continue to freelance for clients and develop my own projects.
