5 months agoHe commented on Frames and Panels - Ep. 1: Kavalier & LatexI love the personality you gave to this guy! Animation is such a long process that sometimes it's difficult to keep the performance feeling spontaneous and fresh, but that's exactly what you've done here. It's a cool angle that he is just a regular guy who happens to be 1000% smaller than everyone else (if he has ever seen anyone else) and is totally unaware that he is a puppet made of clay.
This is a very natural feeling film, where you just buy the character as alive and fall into his situation and story, enjoying rather than judging or critiquing the job done in animation. Excellent work! -

11 months agoHe commented on In The Fall Of Gravity trailer...and, the whole 'one man band' aspect of this film has it's own appeal. when I started this, I looked at all of the things that I didn't have, a good camera, movie lights, a decent microphone, time, money, etc. All of those missing parts said,"Don't do this!". But, I did it anyway.
Don't get me wrong, I don't think your criticizing harshly, nor am I being defensive... I'm just thinking that, if anyone else who might be reading this is in a similar situation, where all you got is a camera and an idea and you don't have all the things you think you need... do it anyway! if you have talent, it will come through, no matter what else you don't have.
There' a 13 year old girl (PrincessAmy) who posted a claymation bit she did just goofing around. I wached it, she clearly didn't have anything worthwhile as movie making equipment or lighting, she wasn't even the most practiced animator but, what she shot was funny and entertaining! THAT'S all you need, (she did all the voices of her characters too) and I loved it!
Don't ever let what you don't have stop you! -

Well, I could also use another animator, a photographer, an editor, a producer, a few PAs, some model builders...(getting lost in a dream here). But I wear all those hats at the same time. It's a 'one man band' kind of show. I just can't bring myself to ever have anyone work for me for free (shallow pockets). This film is almost done so, it's too late for help anyway. I started making this just as a test shot sort of thing that took on it's own life. I'm a newcomer to this whole internet thing and I originally thought very few people would ever see this flic. How that has changed!

11 months agoHe commented on In The Fall Of Gravity trailerThe good news is, I got far more options to market it than I did 20 years ago. Back then, a film like this would be used a demo reel and little else. But now, WOW it's no longer foolish for the 'little guys' to dream big dreams!

11 months agoHe commented on In The Fall Of Gravity trailerI've got about a minute and a 1/2 left to shoot, I got 9 1/2 done now. Life keeps getting in the way of shooting, but I push back! I'm not sure about how to get it to people when it's done, I don't want to just give it away over the net. I'm an artist, not a producer so, I'm gonna just have to feel my way through the selling thing. I can't afford to jam my brain up with that part now, but thanks for asking.
