  ian's right, fcp is mac only. to edit .mov files on a pc get premiere or avid.

  ey oop, i've done a cut in avid free dv, which is the freeware nle avid did last summer. i've exported the project as a full quality q/t, but there's slight interlacing. when i imorted the q/t into vimeo the interlaced became really bad, causing serious picture break up. as far as i can see there isn't a de-interlace export setting in the export setings. is there a way around this? does anyone know a certain export setting that i need to select on avid free dv?

  yes mate, i applied the de-interlace filter to the video track and it works! it was all shot on dvcam, pdx10 625/50 pal. hooraa!

  ah, tried that, and it made it worse!! i then de-interlaced the video tracks in fcp (using the filters) and it's all sweet.
