The audio on the trailer is most definitely a rough mix, right out of my Avid editing system--there's no compression, gating etc., applied, though I did do a little bit of EQ where there was some low end BG. I've tried to keep the levels consistent, but guess I could have done better! I'm definitely not a sound engineer and have tremendous respect for those who are. For the final I'm definitely going to have a professional mix job and all the audio will be optimized in every way that makes sense.

Thanks to all who have had a look and all who have commented. I'll try and respond individually but am also very busy editing so may not get to everyone. But please know that your support and encouragement are very much appreciated.

6 months agoStan Warnow commented on Documentary Trailer for RAYMOND SCOTT: ON TO SOMETHINGHi Christian--Thanks for your comment. The tune at the end of the Trailer is titled "Little Miss Echo" from one of the Soothing Sounds For Babies albums originally released by Epic records on vinyl in the early 1960's--the one for "babies" 12-18 months--though of course these albums have now been re-released by Basta on CD for listening by the young at heart of all ages. As you might expect, it's my favorite creation on those albums, though there are many that I love. The CD's are available directly from raymondscott.com, or Amazon.com.

9 months agoStan Warnow commented on How to prevent video from being downloadedI notice that even though I've checked the don't allow download check box, there's still a link on my page to download .MOV file. When I click on that, the movie comes up in Quicktime, and the Quicktime menu has a save choice if you have Quicktime Pro (which I don't). Does this mean it's that simple to download? I realize other people can download if they're willing to work a bit even if I don't want them too--but this seems far too easy for a video that's supposed to be restricted from downloading.

9 months agoStan Warnow commented on Documentary Trailer for RAYMOND SCOTT: ON TO SOMETHINGHi Gail--thanks so much for your comment and email. In response to your question about availability for purchase, it absolutely will be available as a DVD when it's finished. Please visit scottdoc.wordpress.com for more info. If you want to support the film and reserve a DVD as part of that support, there's a link there that will enable that. Thanks again for your feedback--Stan Warnow
