5 months agoHe commented on panning and tilting issues in the Sony PMW-EX1 forum of the Sony EX1 Footage channelI did some testing and left the shutter in default. You can watch it here: http://www.vimeo.com/829511 If I were you, I would hire an EX1 and try it first for your purpose before buying. If you're planning to use the composite or Y/C output for some occasions, you'll find that the EX1 scales terribly also. Almost not useable. I'm not a pro and maybe I'm doing something awfully wrong. Then I hope someone will correct me and tell me the right setting sto get rid of this problem. But still, the machine does give awsome (static and slow swiveling) pictures. Nothing done before on a cam this size and price. You'll have to embrace the HD fully though! If you want me to do more test and settings, let me know. I'll make the time.

5 months agoHe commented on panning and tilting issues in the Sony PMW-EX1 forum of the Sony EX1 Footage channelYour issue isn't really visible. I think it sounds more like a problem with interlacing. I'm referring to bluriness during pans and tilts.

5 months agoHe commented on panning and tilting issues in the Sony PMW-EX1 forum of the Sony EX1 Footage channelI get troubling looks from pans & tilts with the EX1. Static the picture is stunning and deadsharp, but as I start a pan (quick or slow) it gets blury. Any specific profile to get this right? Also on the output (composite) I get worse pictures than downscaled work from a V1 or even a A1E... Maybe someone can post a few moving shots to proov' I'm wrong.
