3 months agoHe commented on Learning to Walk - First StepsYes, bipeds definitely seem to be the hardest type to simulate. My GA doesn't make any noticeable progress with them.
I'm doing something similar to your approach I think. For example, in the case of the starfish, I define three things for each joint: what it means to 'raise' the joint, what it means to 'lower' the joint and what it means to 'release' it. The GA then mixes and matches these operators until it gets desirable behaviour. -
