I, too, am from Hoopeston and spent my childhood there during the heyday of canning factories and burgeoning business. I'm EMBARRASSED that this kind of thing is what's on the web about our town. I have absolutely no objection to the Wiccans - everyone is constitutionall y allowed his/her own beliefs - but I find this trailer offensive. Tell the Wiccan story if you must, but I think the residents have the right to be heard too. Watching just this trailer made me feel like I was watching a very bad horror film. Rossville is welcome to them - it's a dying town too - this should finish it off as well. Hoopeston is not what I would call narrow-minded - but since when did Southern & Christian values become "narrow"? The last I heard was that Mr. Hubbard had severed his relationship with the school because he wanted to run a "respectable" business in Hoopeston and with the school in his past, no one would take him seriously (or words to that effect). Obviously it was only a rumor.
