I’ve worked in front of and behind the camera for many years in the entertainment and broadcasting fields. I’ve spent a few years in radio in the Midwest as a morning drive-time host, spinning records, hosting talk shows, doing newscasts, and writing and producing commercials for the station and outside ad agencies.

During this time I also wrote and performed comedy sketches for this station as well as for Wisconsin Public Radio and appeared on stage as a performer in musicals, comedies and dramas.

I moved to Los Angeles to work in film and TV while continuing to perform on stage. Some of my favorite stage roles include Tevye in “Fiddler on the Roof” and Pseudolus in “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum” and I look forward to the day when I can perform in the stage version of “The Producers.”

During my years in L.A., I appeared in commercials, voiced animated cartoons and worked for CBS, Paramount, Universal, Disney and others.

Beginning in 1997, I started using my background in film production to help inform people about Scientology’s harmful practices. Scientology has not been happy about the exposure. They’ve attacked me on many fronts starting with a webpage set up to smear my name. The earliest version of the page (captured by Google) included a positive review of my acting. They have since removed that because they knew I enjoyed their praise.

In 1999, I created this website which features streaming video about Scientology. The site lay dormant for a couple of years as I moved to Clearwater, Florida to join with Bob Minton and Stacy Brooks at the Lisa McPherson Trust where I produced videos for LMT Media.

While working for the LMT, I traveled to Chicago to film an interview with two dentists who were trying to obtain a large refund from Scientology. To disrupt the interview, Scientology hired off duty police officers who arrested me for trespassing even though I was on a public sidewalk. More than a year later, I stood trial and was acquitted of all charges. Read the trial transcripts!

One week after this arrest, I was assisting a German film crew as they shot a documentary about Scientology in Clearwater, Florida. While videotaping, I was attacked by a man who struck my camera with a hammer. The man was ultimately arrested and sent to jail on unrelated charges which were uncovered during the investigation of the hammer attack.

The time I’ve spent covering Scientology has been, to say the least, interesting.

Since the LMT closed in late 2001, I have been working in TV news. In 2006, I won my first Emmy Award for a story on Border Issues in the San Diego area.

    Was curious about where the LMT gang went and why we don't see them marching next to us at the protest??? Anon numbers would sky rocket at the protest if they thought they may get to see/meet some of the very first critic's of Scientology who began the protest to begin with. It's concerning to some of the ANON group that we are having to inquire and they are not automatically joining considering in earlier video's they comment on how nice it would be to have more support including the media. Anon is here...and with us came the media and it's continuing daily to show even more interest and give the protest more airtime. Perhaps you might get an answer from them as to why we are having to ask them to join us in the first place. A 10 minute appearance would boost moral even moreso and I can't even tell you what it would do to the ANON numbers showing to protest!

    Mark, i have been thinking a little. Given that you are our respectable beard, would it be possible for you to make a film adressed to the Four Horsemen of the The Four Horsemen of the Apostasy.

    I would imagain that Dawkins, Hitchens and co, would look on the project with sympathy, and would, if made aware of this movement at the very likely lend their support.

    Just wanted to Thank you for all your Hard work over the years! I've seen eveyone of your Video's for over a year now and its kinds Cool to see how its grown over the years. Your first Video's were Basicaly you and the Camera then to LMT.. then to Anon. Thank goodness for the internet and your dedication to get the message out there and for everyone to see!! Thanks for sticking with it and hopefully there will be reform soon and it is My Hope that Co$ loses its Tax exempt status then slowly closes these offices up!

    Glad to see you back online. We can only hope that this vimeo.com doesn't become another youtube-valuing the power of a dollar over the right to free speech. Whether you're right or wrong both you and the CoS had equal right to voice your opinions, without that it's just a one sided opinion.

    Just getting used to the system here, "albums" are essentially what playlists are on YouTube, as I understand it - that said, tried to view the videos on your "Tory and Barb in San Diego" album, but the videos are apparently marked as private, and unviewable by the large public.

    Mark, just checked the FAQ on the site, and it appears that there's only a 500 MB limit per week for uploading, and NO time limit on individual videos... which means, of course, that you would be allowed to post interviews such as the Jason Beghe one in a single part.

    Just a heads up, in case you don't already know. :)

    Will take a bit of getting used to this user interface, but hey, this site might grow to rival YouTube, who knows.

    YouTube is really shooting itself on the foot not letting you back; the quality of the material you post is outstanding, and is drawing ever growing audiences.

    I bet Vimeo's going to get lots of new people registering in the coming days, thanks to YouTube's utter stupidity, and Mark's brilliant content!

    I hope to see you back on youtube. I am glad that you could still air this video. The videos i have found informative in a strange way is the bullbaiters. They appear to have the same intense look on their faces and say the same things. I think that the fact that they are not only clone like but also have the same expressions on their faces is freaky. That might turn more heads. by the way, i love what you, Tory, Andreas, Jesse, tommy, anonymous has been doing!!! I am curious about Gerry Armstrong. I thought he might have hooked up with you guys.
