Short Biography : Rogier Wieland

I was born in Arnhem (the Netherlands) in 1974. Besides playing football on the streets, I was drawing comics every day, until the age of about 16.
I moved to The Hague to study Graphic and typographic design at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts. After graduating in 2000 I worked as a graphic designer for a few design agencies before starting to work on my own.
In 2005 I joined a pitch to make a video project for the Municipal Theatre in Utrecht. I won the pitch with an idea to animate various theatre forms with cardboard cut out characters.
Since then I'm switching between graphic and motion graphic design using After Effects and stopmotion techniques, live action video, still photography and illustration.

Since 2000 I have been creating and directing design and animation for film, television, advertising, interactive and many other alternative forms of motion media.

Specialties: Motion graphics, broadcast design, 3D animation, interactive, branding and identity

Don't marks the debut appearance on film of the Xynthetic team.

The team, consisting of Gavin Strange, his cousin Jamie Strange, Stephen
Heath and filmer Jonny Clooney, came together fully in the summer
of 2004.

Since then the team have set about capturing their progressive skill in
skateboarding. In addition Xynthetic's board graphics are designed and
hand sprayed by Gavin to make sure that every skateboard is unique.

Don't features footage of all three skaters, as well as a look into the
process of making the boards and a visit to The Hub in Sleaford, who
showcased a selection of Xynthetic boards during a recent skateboard
art exhibition.

Edited together by Gavin and Jonny over a mammoth 26 hour straight
session, Don't is the DVD to own that legitimately allows you to say that
you were there in the beginning...
