While selecting recipes, we picked a few that require prep times of 3 hours or more, and when we asked Paul if this would take up too much of the night, he said, "You have to learn to eat like Colombians do ... late and long." My boss assigned me to learn how to use an awesome piece of equipment they owned called a Pinnacle StreamFactory, which is an encoding device that took a live video feed and pushed out four different encodes simultaneously to a streaming server. Until I unwrapped it, it had been sitting in a closet unused. Their original idea was to use this to broadcast live stockholder events to remote stockholders over the internet. This machine spurred me to think that there was huge business potential helping people their stream live events -- I was thinking college sports would be a great start. I spent the whole summer obsessing over the idea. Seven years later, we're now just on the cusp of this concept becoming ubiquitous.

A large group of Belgians built this structure out in the middle of the Playa. It was ingenious, and beautiful. Apparently it cost them $400,000 in wood and equipment to build. At night, they hosted dance parties within ... the one night I went was probably the best party I've been yet.
