Dugometražni dokumentarac Tusta približava nas životu Branka Črnca Tuste, frontmana legendarnog punk-rock banda KUD Idijoti iz Pule. Kroz arhivske materijale i intervjue s gitaristom Sašom Milovanovićem Verudom, basistom Nenadom Marjanovićem Fricom, bubnjarem Diegom Bosuscom Pticom, te kolegama i suvremenicima, kao što su izdavač njihovih prvih albuma Boris Furlan, glazbeni kritičari Petar Janjatović i Dragan Kremer, glazbenici Zoran Predin, Damir Urban i Sejo Sexon, prvi dio filma govori o neočekivanom proboju i meteorskom usponu pulskog sastava. Drugi čin ove specifične rock and roll priče posvećen je ograničenom djelovanju benda i zabranama koje su doživljavali uslijed rata i nacionalističkog ozračja u Hrvatskoj. Nepoljuljanih ideala i beskompromisnog stava, Tusta i KUD Idijoti bili su prvi hrvatski bend koji je nastupio u Srbiji nakon raspada SFRJ, na danas legendarnom koncertu u beogradskoj Hali sportova 2000. godine. Konačno, u finalnom segmentu filma, redatelj Andrej Korovljev fokusira se na posljednje godine i prerani kraj Tustinog života kroz dirljiva svjedočenja članova obitelji i prijatelja, gdje otkrivamo njegovu manje poznatu, intimnu, ljudsku dimenziju bez koje ne bi mogao steći takav društveni značaj.

Tusta made his first musical steps in the 1980s, when the band Kud Idijoti was established. What makes Tusta special and what definitely goes beyond the boundaries of music is his powerful and unrelenting antifascist orientation and the background of a sort of Balkan’s “working class hero”. This attitude was what made Tusta and Kud Idijoti the spokespeople of a series of generations growing up in the 1980s and 1990s. The very fact that Kud Idijoti were banned in the 1990s on most radio stations and branded as “traitors of their country” because of their punk-rock adaptation of the song Bandiera Rossa is quite telling about Tusta’s involvement and fight for tolerance, coexistence and social justice in the times when such values were a sign of “the communist stigma”. We saw no politicians at Tusta’s funeral, but we did see hundreds of people from all former Yugoslav republics who travelled thousands of kilometres to say goodbye to the musical “Che” of this region.
