After a year and a half of adapting and readapting, one thing’s for sure: There’s nothing “normal” about our collective “new normal” — especially when it comes to work. From where we do it to how we connect, we have seen a tectonic shift in our behaviors during the past eighteen months. I would bet these shifts have affected each and every one of us in some way and, together, we’ve created an NSFW reality. (NSFW = New Standard For Work— what else would I mean?)
But we still don’t have it all figured out. In fact, in a recent survey we conducted, 76% of respondents said that they believe the way we work has permanently changed, but only 14% said they felt confident about it. Why is that? And what would it take for every employee to feel positive about heading into a digital-first future?
These are some of the questions we’ve been mulling over at Vimeo.
We’re betting on video powering the future of work, and for good reason. Use of this medium has increased significantly over the past year, with over 80% of participants saying their company is communicating important information via video. Our goal is to help every business create, communicate, and collaborate better. And we’re building brilliantly simple video tools to unlock these capabilities for all.
In powering video for hundreds of thousands of businesses this past year — from the smallest local shop to the Fortune 500 — Vimeo has witnessed many changes firsthand. And we’re ready to share some of our insights on this new working world.
With that, I’m excited to introduce our new NSFW (New Standard for Work) quiz. Designed to be fun and illuminating, this test will help us all understand our emerging roles in our new reality. Are you a micromanager or the always-on meeting cheerleader? Do you respond to emails at 2AM? What does your new work personality mean for you and your colleagues?
It’s cheeky, it’s interactive, and it takes less than 5 minutes. Take it for a spin and see who you are at work today. Your results might surprise you — and help you work better.
