Everyone has heard of the epic, apocalyptic Seven Last Plagues. But have you ever wondered why Scripture calls them the Seven Last Plagues?

The word last implies there are earlier plagues—plagues foretold to strike the earth before God's final judgments fall. Hidden in Leviticus 26 is a prophetic sequence of end-time plagues that most Christians have never noticed.

Like the first of Egypt's ten plagues, these earlier judgments involve human choices and actions that help bring about their devastating consequences.

So what are these forgotten end-time plagues that precede the Seven Last Plagues? Could they already be unfolding before our eyes?

If you've ever seen the movie story of Corrie ten Boom, called The Hiding Place, you will likely remember the moment a Jewish lady challenged Corrie and her sister to defend God. While Corrie ten Boom was in the Ravensbruk concentration camp, having been taken prisoner by the Nazi's for the "crime" of helping Jews escape during WWII; she and her sister Betsie began holding nightly Bible studies in with the other ladies in their barracks. One of the other inmate ladies, who opted not to attend the small Bible study gathering Corrie and Betsie were leading, called out to Corrie across the room. The Bible study was halted as everyone turned to look at the lady. Holding up her deformed, crushed hand for everyone to see, the woman challenged, "Did this loving God that you talk about do this? I was a concert violinist. Now my hand is destroyed (the Nazi's had crushed her hand) and I will never play again, if I do ever get out of this place. So which is it? Is your God loving? In which case, He must be impotent. Or perhaps He is cruel and enjoys seeing our suffering? You can't have it both ways!"
